What is Delta-9?
Is it legal?
The chemical formula of delta-9 is C₂₁H₃₀O₂. This is the same as delta-8, except that one of the carbon-carbon double bonds is in a different position. THC is the cannabinoid responsible for making people experience an intoxicating effect when they consume cannabis.
The most abundant form of THC is delta-9, which has an intoxicating effect. In other words, delta-9 is what makes you feel high.
What is Delta-8?
Delta-8 and THCA is federally legal in the United States. State laws restricting the sale or use may vary. We recommend checking the laws in your state.
Hemp vs Marijuana
Hemp and marijuana are the same species—cannabis. Their only difference is a legal distinction. Hemp is cannabis with a 0.3% or lower concentration of Delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis. Marijuana is cannabis with any concentration above that.
Delta-8 is a form of tetrahydrocannabinol or "THC" that is derived from hemp. It is a cannabinoid known to bring on mild euphoria, relaxation, and a general sense of well-being.
What is THCA?
Will it show up on a drug test?
Delta-8, THCA, and Delta-9 WILL show up on a drug test. It's always best to avoid cannabis products when you have a drug test coming up.
Tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCA) is a key cannabinoid from the hemp plant. Unlike other cannabinoids, THCA only produces a psychotropic effect when heat activates it through decarboxylation. This process, also known as “decarbing” converts THCA to THC and elicits marijuana’s characteristic high.
